Juhi Agarwal

Juhi graduated from Purdue University in May 2023 with a Masters in Structural Engineering(Boiler Up!). She recently moved to Seattle from Indiana and is currently a Bridge EIT at HDR.

Her involvement with ASCE began in 2017 where she started as a volunteer in organizing the India Region ASCE Conference to leading her team as the Assistant Project Manager and winning the South-East Asia Concrete Canoe competition in 2020.

Bridges have always caught her fascination and she is excited to grow in her role to work on complex seismic designs.

Additional to her passion for anything bridge related, she enjoys exploring outdoors and covered 5 National parks last year.

On the civil engineering profession…

I believe while the schools offer challenging and relevant coursework to form a strong basis of fundamentals and principles, constructability of these concepts is a critical aspect one should strive to incorporate in designs.”

On the benefits of ASCE…

From joining ASCE back in 2017 in India to being a part of Seattle YMF chapter and volunteering for the Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition, I have personally benefitted from the diversity of avenues one could explore and be a part of within ASCE.”
