Bobbie Gilmour
Bobbie hails from the great state of Colorado and moved to Seattle to attend Seattle University (Go Red Hawks!) for her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, she started at Kennedy Jenks where she has been for the last 6 years as a Field Engineer.
She is currently working on the Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station. This is an Envision Platinum project that is currently under construction in Georgetown, south of Downtown Seattle. This project will help clean up the Duwamish River by treating stormwater runoff and wastewater during heavy rain events.
She currently serves as the Seattle YMF President-Elect, and Practioner Advisor to the Seattle University ASCE Student Chapter.
Outside of work and ASCE Bobbie loves to bake, and spend time with her friends and her cat Freddy.
On ASCE…
“I enjoy the constant opportunities to learn about people, projects, and about different disciplines in engineering that I am not familiar with. ASCE constantly provides me ways to interact with new people in our industry and allows me to grow professionally and personally. I have made so many professional contacts that have turned into life long friendships.”
On Mentorship...
"As cheesy as this sounds, everyone has been a mentor for me. I try to learn from everyone I meet and take advice from their experiences and implement those ideas into something that will make me a better engineer and person."
