Nicole Peden

Nicole (Nicki) is from Spokane, WA, and is currently a senior at the University of Washington (UW) completing her BSCE with a focus in Structural Engineering. Her involvement with ASCE began in 2017 as a member of the UW Concrete Canoe team. She served as the 2020 UW Conference Chair, helping lead a committee to plan and organize the Pacific Northwest Regional Student Conference where over 300 students from the PNW Region come to compete at various ASCE Competitions.

Upon graduating this June, Nicki will be starting with Davido Consulting Group (DCG) as a Structural Engineer. Outside of work and ASCE, you can find her spending time with her friends and family and at the climbing gym.

On her favorite class...

"My favorite class I’ve taken is either Timber Design or Steel design. I enjoyed the coursework and learning the basics of design. These design courses make me look forward to practicing design post college."

"Quarantine has been strange and nothing like I have experienced before. It has been a disappointment to move to online classes for my last quarter of college. I miss my classmates, but I’ll be happy to see them again when things get better!

To pass time during quarantine my family and I have been working on building an at-home climbing wall. We finished up the construction over Easter weekend!"
