Learning from Younger Members: Building Connections and Improving Your Communication

Join our Younger Members Forum (YMF) leadership to expand your local connections and improve your communication skills. The YMF will lead attendees through an interactive team building activity highlighting the importance of communication, followed by a specific training on communication styles. Through the training, you will identify your personal connection style, learn how different communication styles prefer to interact both individually and generationally, and ultimately gain a better understanding of how to improve your work and personal relationships. The YMF will also share how you can be involved in their activities as mentors and volunteers!

Communications Styles Training:

Elyssa Dixon, PE is a Senior Stormwater Engineer at RKI, the Young Member Representative on the Seattle Section board, and a member on the ASCE Committee on Younger Members. She was the Programs Co-Chair for the ASCE Younger Member Leadership Symposia (YMLS) in Washington D.C. in August and presented on Personal Vision Development and Personal Recharge. She brings her experience to share the Communications Styles training with the Seattle Section.
