Chris Neisius

Professional Development Chair

Chris is a structural designer at Degenkolb Engineers. Since joining the company, Chris has worked on both new building design projects and existing building retrofit projects in the greater Seattle area. Previously, Chris worked for two years as structural bridge engineer at WSP USA’s Seattle group, where he was involved with a variety of transportation projects. He was born and raised in the Seattle area before earning his BSCE at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and MSCE at UC Berkeley. This is Chris’ second year on the YMF board as Professional Development Chair.

In his free time, Chris enjoys going outside - hiking, biking, walking the dog, backpacking, golf, paddleboarding, and pickleball are some of his favorite activities. On rainy days, Chris enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, experimenting in the kitchen, and bouldering.
