This month we will be volunteering with the Delridge Neighborhood Association helping restore forested parks in the West Seattle. Exact location TBA.
Most of the parks drain into the Longfellow Creek watershed or are a part of the West Duwamish Greenbelt. Longfellow Creek hosts spawning salmon and is an important tributary to the polluted Duwamish River, while the West Duwamish Greenbelt is the largest contiguous forest in Seattle!
Tasks may include invasive plant removal, mulching, or planting native plants, depending on the progression of the site's restoration.
