On Civil Engineering...

"Civil engineering is such a broad field that there is always something to learn about. Even within structural engineering, I’m always going to be learning new things and learning from past mistakes to make future projects even better. It’s always fun to go from designing something, to seeing it in construction, and then it finally being completed."

On mentors...

"I’ve developed a very wide support system, especially at Jacobs, where I can rely on many different people for various advice, from technical to networking. Since I’ve started at Jacobs I’ve worked with Jeremy Jacobs (the last name is just a coincidence) on almost all the projects I’ve worked on while at Jacobs. He’s the design lead for the Sound Transit light rail stations that I have worked on and is always open and willing to answer questions. He’s extremely supportive of having a work/life balance and reminds me that I don’t need to be at work ALL the time. It’s great being able to completely be myself while I’m at work and being able to meet a lot of different people. Having a wide range of mentors to lean on has helped me develop to strive to become the best version of myself."
